Athens Photo Research Center

The newly established Athens Photo Research Center is an institution for contemporary photography and visual culture. Conceived as a space where images become conversations, boundaries dissolve, and artistic inquiry takes shape, APhRC is rooted in Athens and connected internationally. It brings together education, practice-based research, and a community-driven spirit and serves as a meeting point for ideas, creative risk-taking, and long-term artistic growth.

Education is a core mission of APhRC. It offers a critical and dynamic educational experience through both in-person and online programs, ranging from immersive workshops and hands-on opportunities to a new hybrid year-long curriculum. Led by mentors, visionary artists, and international professionals, our educational offerings aim to empower participants to refine their visual skills and develop their personal artistic vision.

Workshop leaders in its inaugural year include Joan Fontcuberta, Susan Meiselas, and Laia Abril.
