DH Monday: Lecture Series: Material Worlds – The Virtual Salon at IMAREAL (online)

The lecture series “Material Worlds – The Virtual Salon at IMAREAL” presents and discusses topics related to the material culture of the Middle Ages and the early modern period in an online format. The three forthcoming papers deal with questions of production, choice of material and material significance of bronze doors from the 11th and 12th centuries, reflect on the use and function of wood and brick representations in Giotto’s frescoes in the Arena Chapel in Padua, and discuss historical references in digital games with regard to sensory perception, corporeality and cybernetic anthropology.
