CFP: Art Innovation (Saint-Petersburg, Russia, 2021)
Deadline: June 1, 2021
The electronic scientific journal Art Innovation announces a call for papers for the first issue – 01/2021 (scheduled release July 2021). We accept academic manuscripts on art history spanning from the 1860s up to the present day, as well as essays, interviews, portfolios, and translations which cover the major issues of contemporary art.
Art Innovation features established theories in the analysis of art, as well as an interdisciplinary approach. Special attention is paid to poststructuralist and gender theory, psychoanalysis and sociology, and the new ideas from the field of metamodernism and ecological studies. These provide instruments to study art formed by technological development, postcolonial policies, demographic transition, information and digital revolutions.
Art Innovation focuses on the variety of contemporary art. The journal documents all curatorial and art strategies: from the impressionist movement, which reflected new conditions and zeitgeist in the context of industrial society, — to the virtual art. Contemporary art is diverse and has huge transformative power, which demands effective use and comprehension. In Art Innovation, the contributors consider the main trends and local movements of the last 150 years of art. The objective of the journal is to develop international expert dialogue, which enables productive study of contemporary art.
The journal’s main sections include: Academic studies, Essays, Reviews, Translations, Portfolios, Interviews, and Chronicle. All the scientific materials are peer-reviewed. Articles of PhD, MA and BA students are welcome. Click here for more information about the journal, and click here for Author Guidelines.
