  • National Portrait Gallery vs. Wikipedia

    The National Portrait Gallery in London is accusing a Wikipedia volunteer of downloading over 3000 high-resolution images onto the free online encyclopedia’s Wikimedia Commons.     The Getty Center’s website just announced that the Getty Museum will be closed today, July 9, due to the brush fire and continued closure of the Getty Center off-ramp and Sepulveda Boulevard. They will post updates later in the day regarding reopening.

  • Getty Center evacuated due to fire

    A brushfire broke out early this afternoon near the Getty Center in Brentwood.  It has burned at least 10 acres as of this writing and the Getty buildings have been evacuated, as has Mt.
