Santa Barbara historic architecture news

Now’s your chance to own a bit of California architectural history right here in Santa Barbara.  A 1919 house by Wallace Neff, designed for his mother and thought to be his first house, is on the market on the lower Riviera for $1.48 million (left).

If you’re an admirer of George Washington Smith you’re in luck – there are three residences on the market right now.  His last house, built c.1930 (upper right), is yours for $6.8 million.  If you’re up for a bigger investment, have a look at this one on 1.4 acres, built in 1922/25 (left).  Only $11.5 million to own this piece of SoCal history.  The third one is going for $4.2 million, a French Normandy “farmhouse.”

If you prefer something more modern, and have $35 million burning in your pocket, perhaps The Glass Pavilion appeals (right).  Lots of room for your vintage car collection, too (the “gallery” can accommodate 35 cars)!
