More ARTstor collection additions and agreements

To welcome you to another academic year, ARTstor has added these images to their Digital Library:

  • Shuilu’an Temple (Northwestern University Academic and Research Technologies): 20 views, including 7 Quick Time Virtual Reality (QTVR) panoramas, documenting Buddhist sculpture at Shuilu’an Temple in Lantian, Shaanxi Province, China (keyword search: “shuilu’an temple” or shuilu’an qtvr)
  • La Gazette du Bon Ton (Minneapolis College of Art and Design Special Collections): first release of 65 of a total 100 illustrations (keyword search: gazette dPendant Mask: Iyoba, Nigeria, Edo, Court of Benin, 16th century, Ivory, iron, copper (?) [MMA, 11418]u bon ton)
  • Wilfried Wang: Modern Architecture (University of Texas at Austin): 458 photos, plans and sections of modern European and American architecture (keyword search: wang utexas)
  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art: the last release of what is now over 8,700 images from their permanent collection , approximately 6,400 of which are available as high-resolution downloads for academic publishing (keyword search: metmuseum or “mma iap”)

ARTstor has also announced new agreements with the following collections:

  • San Francisco Museum of Modern Art: to distribute approximately 1,000 images of highlights from the museum’s permanent collection of modern and contemporary art
  • Emilio Sanchez Foundation: to add 79 images of works by the Cuban-born American artist (1921-1999)
  • Barbara Anello: Photographs of Southeast Asia and Morocco: to share approximately 750 images of the domestic architecture of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia, as well as field work with a cooperative of traditional Berber weavers in Ain Leuh, various historical sites, traditional earthen architecture, and ancient Roman ruins
  • World Monuments Fund (WMF): to contribute approximately 2,000 images of architecture, sites, and monuments from around the world
