1600-year-old Bible published online

CS_36_4r_detail_fullThe Codex Sinaiticus, a 4th century Christian Bible written in Greek and containing the oldest complete copy of the New Testament, has been published online at codexsinaiticus.org.  The book was discovered in 1844 at the Monastery of St. Catherine in the Sinai Peninsula.  It had been split up among four countries, and  The Codex Sinaiticus Project is attempting to reunite the pages.

The 800 available pages have been photographed in regular and raking light, can be zoomed in on, and are translated (when possible) into German, Russian and English, as well as being available in the original ancient Greek.
